Learn to control the added distance from a Hybrid Golf Club

Posted in Hybrid Golf Club  by Golf Club Informer
June 26th, 2009

Switching to a hybrid golf club, one may think this new equipment will be perfect for improving their golf game. As we all know, nothing is perfect and this should be treated the same way. One of the greatest benefits of a hybrid golf club is the added distance it brings to your golf game. Sometimes referred to as the hybrid golf club distance gap, you will need to factor in this benefit of added distance to your game. You will need to adjust your calculations for where you want to hit the ball based on the hybrid golf club distance gap, so you avoid problems such as overhitting the ball. Depending on the courses you play on, you will need to make a decision if you require more added distance to your game and if this type of club is the right piece of equipment to bridge the hybrid golf club distance gap.

Add More Yards to Your Game

With a normal three or four iron, you will normally be able to achieve distances of approximately one hundred and ninety to two hundred yards. However, switching over to a three and four iron hybrid golf clubs you will immediately notice that the hybrid golf club distance gap will increase and you will notice that your golf ball is travelling to between two hundred and two hundred and twenty yards with the same three and four hybrid golf clubs.

This hybrid golf club distance gap should make you start looking for ways to address this increase in distance that is achieved when you use a hybrid golf club. You could start by trying to manage your golf course in a more efficient manner so as to counteract the greater hybrid golf club distance being achieved. It means not hitting the ball so hard that it travels in the distance gap range which will then make it hard for you to make the correct approach shot to the green.

The other method to counter the hybrid golf club distance gap is to purchase an additional club that helps to bridge the distance gap. You can use the new club when the distance requirement, normally shorter distances, matches this club type making it easier to approach the green; in other cases you might, for a longer distance, use the hybrid golf club to carry the ball closer to the green for your final approach shot.

Finally, your alternative option to bridge the hybrid golf club distance gap is to purchase a complete hybrid and game improving set. Finding a set of custom golf clubs can also be another option that will match your physique and playing abilities, and will let you mix and match the clubs with options that will definately improve your golf game even further. Using a premade golf club set will always limit your overall gains in playing advantage as compared to the custom golf club set. For this reason, you will find many including your friends switching to buying individual clubs to improve their game overall such as getting their hybrid golf club distance shots to improve. If you are able to save up for both options, then you should look into some hybrid clubs for distance, and traditional clubs for the holes that they will work better on.

June 19th, 2009

Callaway has introduced the FT-9, a driver that is great for anyone to use and it has been built using Fusion technology. You will find it includes a MR Fubuki shaft and you may pick it up in draw, neutral or tour styles.

Callaway Golf Mens RH FT-9 Driver Regular Flex 9 DegreesThe Fusion Technology is a nice way of saying the weight has been positioned to the extreme perimeters. This has been done by web weighting and allows a greater MOI. It offers a traditional shape with a composite body, and is said to have an improved sound than the previous versions.

Key points to remember:

  • Traditional Shape with Composite Body
  • Fusion Technology
  • Web Weighting
  • Greater MOI (moment of inertia)

Here is a video of what PGA TOUR golfer Phil Mickelson carries in his golf bag. If you watch around the 45 second mark he will show you that he uses this same FT-9 driver and that it has fixed his game where he tends to shoot towards the left.

The Callaway FT-9 driver is a perfect tour driver designed by Callaway after its older FT-5 driver. With the said improvements over the past designs, this should prove to be a valuable asset.

Callaway’s Description of the 2009 Callaway FT-9 Drivers:

Fade it. Draw it. Or take it over the trees. If you’ve got the creativity in your game to imagine golf’s most incredible tee shots, the new FT-9 Driver is made just for you. Callaway Golf engineers were able to expand on the success of the FT-5 and surpass expectations with the FT-9 Driver. With the addition of Hyperbolic Face Technology, ball speeds across the entire face have been dramatically improved to generate even more distance off the tee. Golfers will have the option to choose Draw or Neutral configurations with the help of external web weighting that helps precisely position the CG to promote the desired trajectory and ball flight for the desired shot shape.

The Callaway Big Bertha Diablo is a great driver introduced by Callaway in 2009 and is a recommended driver to look into for this Golf season.

Callaway Golf Mens RH Big Bertha Diablo Fairway Woods Fairway - 13 Degrees (13 Degrees) Stiff Flex
The shaft is available in Aldila DVS graphite. The main build is of All titanium Edge technology. You will find this set available for Right handed and Left handed golfers.

This club is built with an asymmetrical shape. This design allows for greater power in your shot because the weight has been placed in the right areas to achieve the optimal Center of Gravity. The same shape also helps you out when you don’t hit it as you should and almost makes the bad hits look like good ones.

Overall, this is a great driver for anyone wanting to add distance to their game.
