Should You Buy a Used Golf Club?

A used golf club is a great deal because, well its usually quite cheaper than a new one. With a very pleasing price tag, your interest may lean towards going the cheaper route of a used golf club. Even better is if you are offered it for free. So if you are going to get a used ladies golf club for free then sure feel free, because you are not spending any money on it and so you do not have to worry that you are going to be paying for something that is simply not going to be worth the money. Now if you are really considering a used golf club that you will pay for, this is another story.

This is not to say that getting a used golf club is something you should never think about, however there are a few aspects that you are going to need to take into consideration before you are willing to shell out any money for a golf club that has already been used.

Size

The first issue that you are going to want to be concerned with when looking at a used golf club is the size. After all, a smaller woman is going to need a very differently sized club than a much larger, taller man, and so you need to make sure that the club is going to be the right size to fit you before you decide to buy it.

The height of the golf clubs is certainly one of the most important things that you are going to have to think about before agreeing to buy any used golf club, no matter how nice it may seem to look at first. Buying the wrong sized driver for your body type is like throwing out money.

Condition

Of course, you ultimately want to determine the condition the clubs are in as poorly maintained or abused golf clubs can definately raise the alarm to not purchase the used golf club set. Chances are that if the person is looking to get rid of them and get new clubs, they have probably been used for quite a while and so they may have dings or just not look so great.

Make sure that you are not going to be getting a piece of garbage, and you will want to be aware of what the regular retail price would be of these clubs so you are not getting ripped off in terms of price here. After all, what would be the point in paying nearly the same price for a used club when you could spend an extra bit and get it new?

Ultimately in the end, you will be better off with a new golf club set unless the used golf club you are looking at is in immaculate condition. There are cases where someone themself purchased the wrong club, and need to sell it to be able to purchase the proper new equipment. The bottom line is that unless you can find a used golf club that is pretty much in new condition, it is really just going to be better for you to spend the extra bit of money and get one that is brand new and ready for you to be the first player.
